PLAYER’S PICKLEBALL RATING

Exclusive Premier Dojo Club

Dojo Rating At our club, player ratings are essential and required in order to maintain the best standards and qualifications for player growth, challenging play, and enjoyment for players of all skill levels. Every player who attends a club event, whether they are a member or a guest, will receive a rating from one of our qualified pros. Your score will range from 1.0 to 5.0 in increments of.01. Your talents, level, and ability will be determined by a rating.


Before registering and showing up for the relevant scheduled event, if you are a visitor and are unsure of your rating, please review the general guidelines and SELF RATE. Please be aware that you will be required to go to if you "OVER RATE" yourself and select the incorrect level.

Our certified PAC Raters hold player rating evaluation bi-weekly for players who feel that they have improved and ready to make the step to the next level. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, we offer players a unique opportunity to have their rating verified and recorded. The 1st short rating is free for every new member


‍PHASE 1:

SHORT RATING SYSTEM is to establish a quick baseline of your level. The first one is free when you join as a member. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes and the certified instructor will watch you play a match in any of our organized club event.. If you would like any other additional rating session as you progress the cost is $20. These sessions take place daily.

IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 1.0-1.5 PLAYERS

BEGINNER, NOVICE


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 2.0 PLAYERS

ADVANCED BEGINNER

‍serve the ball in the court 50% of the time.

I maintain a rally of 3 shots in a row.

I know the rules of pickleball and how to keep score


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 2.5 PLAYERS

LOW INTERMEDIATE

‍serve the ball in the court 60% of the time.

I maintain a rally of 5 shots in a row.

I almost never swing and miss.

I use both my forehand and backhand appropriately.

I handle moderately paced shots.

I try to come to net whenever I get the chance.


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 3.0 PLAYERS

INTERMEDIATE

‍I serve and return the serve in the court 60% of the time

I try to use the third shot drop and have some success.

I initiate and maintain a dinking rally of 5-10 shots in a game situation.

I sustain a volley exchange at the net.

I move to the net appropriately.

I have correct court positioning for doubles

I try to keep the ball low.


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 3.5 PLAYERS

HIGH INTERMEDIATE

‍I serve with depth or placement 75% of the time.

I use the third shot drop successfully 60% of the time.

I consistently dink with placement and purpose.

I sustain a rally and place the ball during a volley exchange.

I create and hit “gaps”.

I have good court coverage, quickness, mobility and balance.

I have a variety of finishing shots.

I anticipate my opponents shots


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 4.0 PLAYERS

MID-ADVANCED

‍I serve with accurate placement and depth 80% of the time.

My third shot drop is strategically placed and effective 80% of the time.

I dink patiently with accuracy and strategic placement.

I control play at the net to keep my opponents deep.

I recognize and exploit my opponents weaknesses.

I move effectively with my partner, easily switching sides and covering the court.

handle fast exchanges at the net.

Fewer than 30% of rallies end because of my unforced errors.

I do not have a noticeable weakness that can be exploited


IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 4.5-5.0 PLAYERS

HIGH ADVANCED

I serve with placement, power or spin my shots 95% of the time.

I consistently hit an effective third shot drop, drill or spin shot.

I dink all day long with accuracy, placement spin and variety.

I purposely reset fast paced balls.

Fewer than 10% of rallies end because of my unforced errors.

I have excellent positioning, anticipation and mobility.

I can retrieve lobs and reset them to my advantage.

I have quick hands

I regularly last for a full 3 hour session_


PHASE 2:

‍LONG RATING SYSTEM comprised of a series of drills with a certified evaluator. It will be a live rating system where an evaluation test and game will take place. Base on a passing score of 60% and analysis of your game, the evaluator will either move you to the next level or keep you at the same level.


This certified scorecard system analysis provides accuracy, transparency and adaptability.


1 hour long-$50 per player evaluation. 4 Player minimum. The session will need to be book ahead of time and are usually held the last Saturday of every month.

IPTPA SKILL ASSESSMENT 1.0-1.5 PLAYERS

LEVEL 1.0

I have only recently picked up the game the past few months.

I am learning the scoring, court lines and some basic rules of Pickleball.

I cannot play a full game yet as I am having a hard time sustaining a rally.

I understand the 2 bounce rule and the Non-Volley Zone.


LEVEL 1.5 (must posses the previous level skills plus the following)

I can keep a short rally but i still fail to return easy balls frequently.

I have played a few games but i occasionally get mix up with my court positioning and scoring.

I am learning the proper serve, forehand, backhand and dinks techniques.

I am learning to move around the court in a safe & balanced manner

I am beginning to communicate with my partner

Demonstrates proper sideways turn, arm positioning and backward movement for overhead

Knows the basic rules including two bounce rule, scoring and player position relative to scoring

Demonstrates dinks down the line forehand & backhand

Demonstrates dinks cross court forehand & backhand

Demonstrates proper ready position

Demonstrates punch volley

Demonstrates proper sideways turn, arm positioning and backward movement for overhead

Demonstrates an overhead

Knows where to stand as the serve team and the return team

Demonstrates proper side step movement while being balanced

Has good mobility and can move forward in a safe and balanced manner

Developing eye-hand coordination

Demonstrates a forehand ground stroke swing low to high and striking the ball off front foot

Demonstrates a backhand ground stroke swing low to high and striking the ball off front foot
